Lan Su Chinese Garden

The Lan Su Chinese Garden in Portland, Oregon represents a collaboration between the cites of Portland and Suzhou in China’s Jiangsu province.  The garden is an authentic Ming Dynasty style garden built by 65 Suzhou artisans on a block of Portland’s historic Chinatown district.  My family visited the Portland Japanese Garden earlier in the day.  Two wonderful photography opportunities in the same day!

    1. Hehe, thanks Dave. I’ve had Japanese water garden in my backyard for about 18 years now, with Koi the local herons haven’t eaten yet, bonsai, many Japanese cultivars, and other Japanese plants. So, yep, I was in heaven! (o;

  2. Hi Sam, This looks so tranquil and inviting through your lens. I see above that you’re a Japanese garden enthusiast. Very cool. Your images are thoughtfully composed. I love the frame within a frame monochrome and the flow of your water lilies image.
